- PivotFlex Wing Mounting
- Many trainers’ wings attach with rubber bands they can "pop off" in a crash and avoid severe damage. Some other wings bolt-on for speed and simplicity. NexSTAR’s unique PivotFlex mounting system has the advantages of both. The wing fastens quickly and securely with one nylon bolt. A rubber retainer and pivoting channel absorb the minor jolts of normal use. In more serious mishaps, the wing can still separate from the fuselage and escape the full force of impact.
- CenterCore Main Wing Rib
- NexSTAR’s main wing halves are securely joined with an extra strong steel rod and perfectly aligned by the molded composite CenterCore rib with built-in aileron servo mount.
- EasyAlign Tail Mounting System
- Tail assembly of other trainers is complicated by the difficulty of routing mounting hardware through locations where it can’t be seen. The NexSTAR’s Easy Align system guides parts into place automatically ducing a strong, straight tail with less time and effort. You don’t even need tools!
- SnapGear Quick Landing Gear Mounts
- The SnapGear system provides the strongest landing gear available in any R/C trainer...and you can install it in three seconds! You literally "snap" the extra-thick duraluminum gear into a nylon mount already installed in the fuselage. It locks into place can also be removed simply by pressing a release pin.
- Active Flight Stabilization
- NexSTAR is the only AFS-equipped R/C trainer! Sophisticated on-board sensors constantly monitor the model’s attitude and adjust roll and pitch automatically to keep it flying level.

- Trainer airplane wings have flat-bottom airfoils. That’s such standard practice that few manufacturers give it a second thought. Hobbico did designed a new wing whose unique, carefully researched shape actually features TWO different airfoils. The unique combination improves efficiency and lift for greater stability at all speeds, and especially at the slow speeds seen at takeoff and landing.
- NexSTAR SpinControl Airfoil Extensions
- If flying speeds slow so much that the main wing cannot produce lift, a plane ’stalls’ rolling to one side and possibly spinning out of control. These leading edge "wing droops" are another special NexSTAR safety net: They continue providing lift in a stall so that the wing remains level and you can stay in control.
- SpeedBrakes Training Flaps

- Your NexSTAR’s O.S. .46FXi engine arrives already installed on this special mount. No tapping or drilling is needed. The IsoSmooth design lowers engine noise and keeps engine vibration from being transmitted to the rest of the model plating it from potentially serious airframe and radio damage.
